Mark Briggs

Piano Teacher Mark is a highly skilled professional musician and music educator with over 40 years of experience in the music industry. Mark has been playing keyboarded instruments since the age of six. He is a vituoso on many instruments but specialises in piano, keyboard and organ.

Mark had a natural talent for piano and by the age of 14 he had made his concert debut with the Scottish National Orchestra, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No.21. Mark then continued his musical journey by studying Music at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he achieved his Bachelors Degree in music and performance.

Since graduating Mark has dedicated his life to the performance and teaching of music. As a professional musician Mark has performed all over the world. He spent 3 years touring Europe with the James Last Orchestra. He worked as Musical Director for Tony Bennett in his 2010 UK tour. He has also worked on tour with Michael Ball and Sheila Ferguson (from the 3 Degrees), where he toured many interesting places across the world, including the falkland Islands.

However the majority of Marks career has been spent as a music teacher. Mark has taught privately and in schools across the midlands for almost 40 years. Marks professional knowledge is highly sought after, this is highlighted by the fact that many of his pupils who started as beginners are still with him many years later, having worked up to grade 8 and diploma levels themselves. This is all down to Marks standard of teaching.

Mark believes that if a student learns to play correctly and understands the musical knowledge and theory behind the music, they will go on to be excellent musicians in the future. Mark has trained hundreds of pupils over the years and many of his students have gone on to be professional musicians themmselves. However Mark equally encourages students that take up piano or keyboard as a hobby or as a means of relaxation.

Mark is a professional of the highest standard and he prides himself on his ability to engage and to motivate students of all standards and ages during lessons, ensuring that learning music is an enjoyable activity for everyone.
